By wearing tilak or Vibhuti not only does one identify ones body as the temple of the Lord but also one is blessed by the auspicious protection of the Lord. Not only is the wearer immensely benefited but even those who see the tilak marks are benefited.

"Persons who are decorated with tilaka or gopī-candana [a kind of clay resembling fuller's earth which is produced in certain quarters of Vrindāvana], and who mark their bodies all over with the holy names of the Lord, and on whose necks and breasts there are tulasī beads, are never approached by the Yamadūtas." The Yamadūtas are the constables of King Yama (the lord of death),

So when we have so many auspicious things in our religion why do we rejecting wearing Tilak or Vibhuti? But then we are proud to have piercing and tattoos on our body which can never we equivalent to Vaishnava or Saiva symbols .

Many of us are also going after black magicians and running after many people to solve material problems but we never wear Vaishnava or Saiva symbols which can protect us from all kind of obstacles. Without delaying precious time, please make a vow that Tilak and Vibhuti will your choice from today.
